RugbySmarts began in 2020 when co-founder and CTO William Johnstone was working with Connacht Rugby and Corinthians RFC and discovered that the current process for video analysis is manual, extremely time consuming and very laborious.
After spending countless hours coding, analysing, and editing matches to help improve the performance of the teams he worked with, William was inspired to apply his knowledge of artificial intelligence and video manipulation to develop a better way. Once the concept was proved he approached Yvonne Comer, former International rugby player, to come on board as co-founder & CEO to create an organisation that transforms and revolutionise the video analytics landscape.
